Our History

Owner Ximena Larrea has been present since the very beginning, shaping the concept, the long-term vision of the project, and the service and quality standards she aims to provide.

It was the year 1995 in a Chile that was timidly awakening to discover places to share. Businessmen and world travelers aspired to less formal settings than those found in hotels, but still demanding quality. University students were ahead of their time, discovering the benefits of exotic imported teas in a wide range of varieties, feeling that finally, this country also offered the gourmet options found in developed countries.

The "caviar left" (as those who liked to "savor the exquisite" were called) began to gather on Orrego Luco street, which was becoming fashionable. Thus, Le Flaubert found its niche, its loyal clientele that has followed it since its beginnings.

Le Flaubert found its home on Orrego Luco street, one of the streets in the Providencia district with a tradition of French-style architecture. The restaurant is housed in a building that was slightly adapted to meet the functional needs of a dining establishment.

To this day, Le Flaubert maintains its classic yet casual atmosphere, a place for warm and convivial moments. The inviting spaces encourage conversation, the armchairs offer comfort, and the cuisine has earned consistent praise for its unwavering attention to detail.

We were pioneers as a tea room, offering high-quality teas served in teapots and sold loose leaf by weight. We organized the first "Cenas del Vino" (Wine Dinners), which quickly became fashionable, harmonizing wine and gastronomy. Since 2007, we have revived the tradition of hearty soups in winter, calling them "Tiempo de Sopas" (Soup Season): a small gourmet contribution, creating successful compositions or paying homage to traditional peasant or seafood soups from different countries.

What dishes characterize Le Flaubert? A savory paté maison, a classic "soupe à l'oignon", a comforting "coq au vin", duck prepared as in France, the signature "corvina Flaubert", decadent crêpes suzettes, a luscious chocolate mousse, and much more.

It's a delight to visit Le Flaubert time and time again," say the restaurant's habitués.
